I love being at home, when it is raining!

I realize I will cause some jealousy by this blog. For that I apologize.
I am sitting here in my pjs (about to spend some time with the Lord) with my cup of coffee.
Josie is snoozing in her bed.
Russ was up most of the night sick, so he is snoozing too.
And Thomas and I are enjoying a rainy morning.
I am fully a mother hen... content when everyone is in the hen house.

p.s. In Athens I always hated when it rained. And I felt like it rained a lot.

we are fam- ily (1st video post)

Thomas and Josie have become fast friends. He is still so sweet to her. Here he was just chillin, looking up at us like.... "Are you really going to let her lay on me? You don't even let me lick her?"

We got to see sweet Emma (who just turned 2 yesterday) a lot in the last few days. We are looking forward to our trip to Williamsburg in September to see their new house.

We also visited Nana and Grandaddy. Grandaddy's garden is full of yummy things. Tomatoes, pears, okra and watermelon. He was so proud of his 45 lbs. watermelon and his great grandaughter.

Rough pic of me and the sun in Josie's eyes.... but you get the point.

Confessions...

Confession #1: Josie loves books already. It is in her blood.
We went to visit Gran Gran (Russ' mom) at Minor Elementary. She is the media specialist there.
Confession #2: Sometimes I am jealous of my dog's life.
Thomas is not a morning dog. This was his position at 9:30am this morning.

Confession #3: We already love the Waterworth boys.
We went to the Waterworth's to hang out with Jill, Luke and Thad. I started to say play... but let's be serious. Josie does not play yet.
This is Luke and Josie. Fair skin??

This is a shot at getting all three in the picture.

Confession #4: This is honestly the first time I have had time to write a blog.
Confession #5: I have thought of writing a blog several times.
Confession #6: This is largely due to my huge problem of being a time optimist.
Anyone else have this problem?
I love to think I have time to do everything, in about 15 to 30 minutes.
Confession #7: My daughter is a "big girl" and I love it.
We went to the doctor on Tuesday and she weight 12 lbs. 7 oz and was 23 inches long.
Confession #8: Josie is awesome. She is a great baby. I am just nervous for when she turns 2. Good now... stinkers later.

Queen vacation

We returned from the Isle of Palms, SC (15 minutes from Charleston) on Friday. We had a great
time with my family.

Camden, Durham and Raleigh eating a snack by the pool.
Josie ready for her first pool experience.

Photo shoot. It is quite funny and fun. My family does an annual (color coordinating) photo shoot. This year the colors were chocolate brown, butter cream and white. Russ and Josie by the ocean. I love this picture. It makes me smile. Our little butter bean.
My mom and dad with their grandkids.
The Queen girls.
Bella kindly gave Josie her swim outfit. So cute!
Uncle KC and Josie on an after dinner walk. The houses were fun to look at.
Chillin on mom and dad's bed.
Holy scallops. We ate at a place called Hank's Seafood. Needless to say... it was wonderful.
Durham and Josie enjoyed playing together in the mornings.
We had a wonderful time on vacation. Josie did great. Last night she slept through the night for the first time. Of course... I still woke up. Geez. More fun to come.
